Question

As a self-employed person, where can I deduct a percentage of my home internet expense for work on my Schedule C?

If I list it under "Office expenses," I cannot specify the percentage used for work vs. personal, so I'm not sure where in TurboTax to list this.

Put it under communications, office supplies, or Miscellaneous-Other Expenses.  Where do I enter my self-employment business expenses, like supplies and vehicle mileage?

Those categories do not give me an option to specify the percentage used for business vs. personal--should I put "Internet 50%" in the description then divide the total of my internet bills for the year in half and put that amount in the box?

You can either just enter 50% of the total in one of the specified categories and keep your own notes that you only claimed 50% for business, or put it in the miscellaneous expenses category where you can type 'Internet 50%' as the description.  Either way will work.

TurboTax will not prorate the amount for you, so you need to calculate it and enter only 50% of the total if that is the amount you used for business purposes.
