Can I deduct the registration, insurance or moorage of my boat if it is treated as a second home? If so, what can I deduct?

My boat has a head with shower, galley and stateroom. Boat is moored in Washington State.

A boat can be considered a second home for tax purposes if it has a bathroom, a sleeping berth and a galley.

 

You can deduct the loan interest if the loan is secured by the boat itself.

 

Registration fees, for the portion based on the value of the boat, is deductible as personal property taxes.

 

Insurance is not deductible.
