My kids were away for 2 months and stayed in Canada with my extended family. Can I claim the Dependent Care Credit for expenses paid to a summer camp outside the U.S.?

Wait----your children were with family members and you want to claim that they were away at some sort of summer camp in order to get the childcare credit?     Only summer day camp expenses can be entered for the childcare credit.   "Sleep away" camp cannot be used for the credit.   And certainly, visiting Grandma or an aunt  or some other family member in Canada for two months is not day camp.

They were away and also registered in Day/summer camp in Canada. Want to understand whether summer camp outside of US is also eligible for dependent care benefit.

I think you will have a problem with entering information for the camp which is in Canada if you live and work in the U.S. since you have to enter a Tax ID for the camp.   And if it is questioned, you would have a tough time convincing the IRS that your children attended day camp in Canada so that you could work.
