Civilian PCS - Address

I’m a civilian federal employee PCSed overseas. My address before PCSing was in Texas. All of my W2 still has my Texas address on it.

TurboTax asks for my residence. Do I say foreign/outside of the US, or do I say Texas?

I was not sure so I thought I’ll test both options - when I selected Foreign/outside of the US, Turbo Tax then asks questions about foreign income and foreign banks, which I do not have. Because of that, do I say I live in Texas?

If this question is asked of you in the PERSONAL INFO section under state of residence, you would enter the state of residence as of 12/31. If you select foreign, a question will then appear asking you your previous state of residence, which is Texas. Then it will ask when you moved.

Since you are now in a foreign country, IRS will require you to report your Foreign accounts and Assets if you have any. Here are a couple of links you should review to see if these are applicable to you.
