Clean Vehicle Credit (8936) and Override

The 15400 is under my wifes name and SSN but the name and SSN on the 8936 is my wifes.

The IRS keeps on denying it based on the SSN, VIN, and date of purchase not matching, I tried to override but then I couldn't efile, what's the point of the override and this software if the questions being asked are not matching the verifications the IRS is doing?

I'm assuming that the problem is that the social security number on the 15400 is your wife's and the one on the 8936 is yours.

The fix for that is to go back to the very beginning of your tax return where you entered the personal information about the two of you. You entered yourself first and then you entered your wife second. You need to switch those two people. So delete the information on the first person about yourself and replace it with your wife's information. Then delete the information about your wife in the second spot and replace it with information about yourself.

That will make sure that her information gets entered on the 8936 and it will match the 15400 and you should be all set.
