Question

Commuting miles for 1099

I am an independent contractor and I travel drive from my home 3 different offices that are booked for the Functional Capacity evaluations.  I do not travel between offices.  I see the Client for about 3 hours and then finish the documentation at home on my laptop.  Can my home be considered a home office or would the mileage to the temporary offices be considered commuting?

If you have a home office that is your principal place of business, then the drive from your home office to the other business locations would be business miles.

Your home can be considered your home office as long as the work you do there does not have another fixed location where that work would normally be performed.
