Do I have to worry about this foreign asset? My resident alien dad died in 2016, with one foreign account of less than 15,000 euros. I am the only heir and the executor.

My dad was a resident alien in the US. I am a citizen in the US. There are no other foreign assets. I am inheriting this < 15,000 euros foreign account. I hear about things like FATCA (form 8938) and inheritance tax (form 706). Unless I am mistaken, I am below the thresholds that would require me to file.

The threshold for form Fincen 114 is $10,000 (at some point during the year) http://bsaefiling.fincen.treas.gov/NoRegFBARFiler.html

Does the inheritance factor make any difference? What if the account is transferred to the US?
