If my tax return shows a credit of $7500 for EV does this confirm that the credit was not transferred to the dealer? I didn’t know bout this credit until now but I don’t remember if I was given the option to take the credit at the time of the sale.

    Your answer to the TurboTax question, "Did you transfer the credit to the dealer at the time of sale?" would determine whether you got the EV credit or not. ‌When you reported your energy-efficient vehicle information in the TurboTax program you would have answered yes or no to that question. ‌

     

    If you are unsure whether your credit was transferred to the dealer, you should call the dealership and ask if the credit was transferred to them. You could also review your purchase paperwork to determine if the credit was transferred to the dealer..

     

    You can get back to the energy -efficient vehicle questions in TurboTax to review your answers by clicking on "Search in the upper right corner of your screen and typing "energy efficient vehicle" in your search box. You will then click on "Jump to energy-efficient vehicles"
