I am using TurboTax Premire 2024. form 5498-SA shows $2000. in Contributions to HSA in 2024. Form 1099-SA shows $$1500. in gross distribution. Why is the 6% tax on the total $2000. Showing up on Schedule 2. Is this an ERROR in TT?

You should be sure that you have entered all applicable information in the Health Savings Account (HSA) section of your return.  This will double-check that you were eligible to make the HSA contributions.  Pay close attention to the messages on the screen to possibly learn why the excise tax is being included on your return.

To go through the HSA section again, you would go to Deductions and Credits > Medical > 1099-SA, HSA, MSA and click Update.  Or use the magnifying glass at the top of the screen to search 'HSA'.
