How do I claim the adoption credit? I started adoption 4/2024 and ended 12/2024. Expenses were $10,500. I put that in under atty fees and then it said I do not qualify.

The credit is non-refundable, so if you don't have a tax liability, you won't have a credit.

The credit has income limits, so if your Modified Adjusted Gross Income is over 292,150, there will be no credit.
