How do I correct the amount of property taxes paid?

I entered the wrong amount paid in property taxes and need to adjust the amount actually paid.

You can edit the amounts in the Deductions & Credits section of TurboTax. There are 3 places, depending on what kind of property tax, that you could have entered them in, and you have to go back to the original entry to edit it.

If you are editing real estate tax reported on your 1098, edit the Mortgage Interest entry and edit the 1098 form. If the property taxes were real estate taxes, but not on a 1098, use the second entry line for Your Home: Property Taxes to edit the amount.

If you are trying to edit the property taxes related to your vehicles, edit the Personal Property Taxes amount under Cars and Other Things You Own. see images below.
