Your California car and truck expenses may be the same as the Federal expenses, or there may be some differences. You can edit them if necessary in the California interview.
When you get to the screen in the California interview, "Here's the income that California handles differently", review the list for anything that may apply to your situation. If you have a Schedule C business, the screen may have "Business Profit or Loss Adjustment" shown. Click Edit and complete the questions. For example, your depreciation may be different on your California return.
California law has not always conformed to federal law with regard to depreciation methods, special credits, or accelerated write‑offs. Consequently, the recovery periods and the basis on which the depreciation is calculated may be different from the amounts used for federal purposes. See California Form 3885P for more information.
