Question

How do I find out the home office expenses that will carry over to next year? Did not write the figures before filing but I remember Turbo Tax keeps them. Right?

Yes, unless you use the simplified method.   If you use the regular method, the unused portion of your home office deduction will carry forward to future years.   You might not be able to deduct all of your expenses if your business expenses exceed your income from the business use of your home for the year.   In this case, the nondeductible expenses can be carried over and applied in the following tax year.

Note that any deduction for the carryover amount is subject to the gross income limit for the following year, whether or not you still live in the same home that year.

Thank you for your response. Yes I am using the regular method. While I was working on the taxes I saw the amount that will carry over but did not write it down before filing. How can I access that figure? Is it saved somewhere?

Yes, the amount of Home Office Expenses that will be carried over to next year are found at the bottom of Form 8829. Look for Part IV "Carryover of Unallowed Expenses," Line 43 (operating expenses) and Line 44 (casualty losses and depreciation).
