You can enter this information in the foreign income and exclusion section of your return. You won't be able to exclude your income if you lived in multiple countries, but this will be reported as foreign-earned income on your tax return.
Sign in to TurboTax and open or continue your return.
Search for foreign income.
Select the Jump to link in the search results.
Answer Yes to Did You Make Any Money Outside the United States? and follow the onscreen instructions.
If you paid foreign tax, you can claim a foreign tax credit on your return.
Go to Federal
Deductions and credits
Estimate and other taxes paid
Foreign Tax Credit>start or revisit
As you go through the screens, when it asks "Tell Us About Your Foreign Taxes" select none of these apply.
When it asks if you wish to take the deduction and credit, take the credit.
Continue through until you reach a screen that says "No other income or expenses" Say no
Continue through until it asks the income type, say General Category income
Next add a country. If this is more than three countries, select various.
Other Gross Income is the total amount of income earned in US dollars
Continue through the interview until it asks for the foreign taxes you paid, here record the amount.
Now you are done reporting the foreign taxes. Just keep going through the section without making any more entries. You will have finished reporting your gross income from the sale and the foreign taxes paid.
