The IRS Publication says you can get up to $1,200 for HVAC installs.  I installed 2 separate units, and they both qualify for $600.  How do I put in both units?  Turbo tax only lets me input a dollar amount, not per unit.  So when I put in the total for both units, I only get a credit of $600.  How do I break it out into 2 separate units?

    I don't know if it is specifically stated in the regulations, but it would be assumed that the credit applies to the installation of qualifying energy efficient property by function as opposed to number of units. So installing two air conditioners in the same house would just qualify as installing one. Evidence of that is on the Form 5695, Residential Energy Credits, you are asked to enter "Amounts paid for Central air conditioners":
