Question

i entered my mileage for standard mileage deduction. Why didn't i see a change in my return.

    Are you self-employed?   Did you enter mileage on a Schedule C?

    One possibility is that you entered the mileage in the Employment Expenses and then Job-related expenses section in TurboTax.  Expenses entered in that section are not deductible on your federal tax return and in most states not on your state return, except in rare circumstances in 2024. Here are the exceptions as listed in TurboTax:
