I forgot to enter home energy credit. Can it go on next years?

I already submitted 2024 taxes. I forgot to enter home energy improvements. Can it be entered next year?

    No, the credit cannot be entered on the 2025 tax return since the purchase occurred in 2024.  You will have to amend the 2024 tax return to enter the Home Energy Credit.

     

    Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS.
