Question

I got credit of $7500 for my new Tesla 2024 last year. Do I still need to submit 8936 Form during tax return?

If you've already received the incentive there is no need to carry that form forward.

On the menu in the sidebar on the left.

    Select Tax Tools

    • Tip: You may have to minimize tabs for both Federal & State
    1. On the drop-down select Tools
    2. On the Pop-Up menu select Delete a Form
    3. This will give you all of the forms in your return
    4. Scroll down to the form you want to delete
    5. Select the Form 8936
    6. Click on Delete.

    Hi John,

    Thanks for your reply!

I did not find the 8936 Form during filling. I got a letter from IRS saying that I still need to file 8936 and 8936 Schedule A form.

However I couldn’t find those forms online. How can I find and submit this forms during tax filing?

    Regards,

    Prabal

You will find the EV credit which will generate form 8936 and Schedule A 8936 by selecting

    1. Personal
    2. Deductions and Credits
    3. Energy Efficient Vehicles under Cars and Other Things you own
