Question

I have a home office. Every year I have to reenter the data (size, year started, square footage etc). How can I recall the previous year's info?

If you filed with Turbo Tax Online, you can:

    1. Log in to your TurboTax Online.
    2. Go to Your Tax return and Documents
    3. Click on amend/change 2023 return
    4. Next will ask why you are amending, pick a reason
    5. it will ask you if you wish to amend, say yes.
    6. Continue two more screens and you are now in your return.
    7. Now go to tax tools
    8. Print Center
    9. now select  "Print, save, or preview this year's return." You can also include government and TurboTax worksheets if needed.
    10. Here you can download the return to include all government and turbo worksheets. Once you downloaded a file to your computer, you could look for form 8829 and that  is here your Home Office data is stored. It will either be in this form or a worksheet
    11. Sign out of the return. You are not doing an amendment but this is the only way to get you into the return.

If you used Turbo Tax Desktop in 2023, you will need to find the file on your computer if you saved it. If you still have your 2023 Desktop program installed, you might be able to open it up and the return may still be in the program.
