I have a tax credit form but can't figure out how to enter it in turbo tax - it is treating my donation as a deduction and not giving me the option to get the credit

how do I enter in the credit into turbo tax?

What tax credit form? If you made a charitable donation it is entered as an itemized deduction on Schedule A, along with other itemized deductions like mortgage interest or property tax, etc.

Please explain what kind of form you have.

That does not sound like it would be a Federal tax credit, but it could be one for your state. Please share what state you are filing and someone will try to assist you further regarding where to enter your information.
