Question

I keep the message to enter my mortgage lender but I do not have a mortgage. I rent. Where do I go to remove that I have a mortgage?

If you didn't have a mortgage and are stuck, go back to the main page:

    1. Go back to deductions and credits
    2. In your Tax breaks, select Add/Edit next to Mortgage interest
    3. Expand the menu under Your 1098 summary and select Delete
    4. On the next screen confirm that you want to Delete the section

See the images below for your reference:

    Thanks.

Under my "tax breaks" there is no line for the "Mortgage Interest" in order for me to edit/delete it. There inso menu under the "1098 summary.

Can you explain how you figured it out?

    @LeticiaF1

explained above how to get to that section and delete the Mortgage Interest.

Original Poster was having a difficult time finding it but then "he figure it out" and found that section.

You can also delete Form 1098 if you don't have a 2024 Form 1098 to enter, but one is showing in your forms.

HERE is how to delete forms when using TurboTax Online

Desktop users simply switch to FORMS

    Otherwise go to

    Deductions & Credits

    Your Home

Mortgage Interest, Points, Refinancing, and Insurance    Start or Update

If a Lender is showing on the list, delete it

    One more question,

Do you know why I am being charged a $99 fee to file through Turbotax? I have been filing through Turbotax for years and I have never been charged such substantial amount.

To see your fees, click on Tax Tools on the left side of the screen. Then click on Tools. You will see My Fees in the center of the screen.
