There are two possible ways to enter the property tax.

You can enter them there, or there is a separate entry section for property taxes.

    • Property Tax is often reported with the Mortgage Interest on form 1098.
    • However, it is presented on the summary under a separate tab labeled Property Tax.
      • You cannot edit the amount you posted on the mortgage entry screen.
      • If you wish to edit this, go back to the Mortgage 1098 and make the changes.

    To post your home

    1. Log into TurboTax
    2. Under Federal (on the left sidebar)
    3. Select Deductions & Credits
    4. On the center screen
    5. Scroll down to Your Home
    6. Choose Mortgage Interest and Refinancing (Form 1098)
    7. Follow the interview

To post Property Tax as a separate listing

    1. Log into TurboTax
    2. Under Federal > Deductions & Credits
    3. In dropdown select Property (Real Estate) Taxes
    4. [Start] or [Edit]
    5. Did you pay property or real estate taxes? [yes]
    6. Enter the amount under Property taxes on your main home
    7. If you have mortgage interest and paid property taxes it can be posted to Your Home
