I owe child support but they closed my case will they still take my refund

The fact that the case is closed does not mean you can stop making payments. You must continue to pay the support, and if you owe back payments, your refund will most likely be intercepted until the debt is satisfied, unfortunately.

I'm not sure what you mean by my payments have been returned to me.

The IRS and State Governments have the ability to offset a refund to pay for certain past due debts.  You generally will receive a letter stating what the offset was for.  

The IRS provides a toll-free number, (800) 304-3107, to call for information about tax offsets.
