If amt in box 12 on W2 for HSA....is that considered a contribution by me or employer

    The HSA contribution in box 12 of your W-2 with code W is considered an employer contribution, even though it is taken out of your pay. When TurboTax asks if you made any contributions yourself, it means contributions that you sent directly to the HSA, not through your employer.
