Hi, I gurt my back in 2010, had 3 back surgeries. Employer has BOT contributed to my HSA since 2010 and neither have T. I use it for meds and Dr visits. Mt tax person started putting it on my tax forms since 2020 and now I owe the IRS (state and Fed.) almost $10,000. My income is $5000 but the pension part used to pay the mortgage but now is $200. 00 short ever month out of my Soc. Sec. 0f 2900.  With 4800 in bills each month, there is no way I can pay the IRS too. Is no money  has gone into  the HSA for 15 years, should it be taxable?

No, if you have funds in an HSA you can use those funds for medical bills tax-free even after you stop working. (and stop contributing)

Can you give us any more details?
