A friend is trying to itemize medical expenses on TurboTax. For mileage, instead of the appropriate 21 cents per mile, it's calculating at 67 cents/mile, which is the business rate.  Is there a way to correct that?

Make sure to report the mileage in the Medical section:

    1. Go to Federal
    2. Go to Deductions and Credits.
    3. Scroll down to Medical.
    4. Go to Medical Expenses.
    5. Continue until you get to the screen Tell us about anything spent on medical travel. Enter Miles driven
    6.  Medical Expense worksheet line 9a will show the mileage.

That is exactly what the person I was trying to help was doing. They had calculated what they thought the mileage cost would be, and when TurboTax's amount was much higher, they realized that the TurboTax calculation was based on the business rate.

There is not a way to correct the TurboTax calculation if it is incorrect, we would need to submit a report to have it corrected.  Please share what version of TurboTax was being used when you witnessed the incorrect calculation.
