I only paid 142 dollars in interest 2024. I owe 1.600 dollars left on my portage. Do I have to  put it down on tax form, Seems it does not make any difference?

    If you are not itemizing deductions, and instead taking the standard deduction, there is no need to enter this information.  However, if you are itemizing, you'll be able to reduce your tax slightly.
