I am completing my 2024 federal taxes in TurboTax Deluxe. In the 1098 form section, TurboTax is asking for "Property (real estate) taxes paid." I purchased a home in 2024 (California.) I received a 1098. Box 10 Other is empty, however, my mortgage company noted below the 1098 form that they made a property tax disbursement of $3528.05 in 2024. I assume this is the amount I enter in this TurboTax box, correct?

Also, I received a supplemental property tax bill for for fiscal year 7/1/24 to 6/30/25 in the amount of $1267.42. I paid the amount, but not in 2024. I paid it in 2025. Do I add a portion of this supplemental amount to the TurboTax box as well since part of the payment was for a fiscal year that included a portion of 2024? If so, how do I calculate how much to include?

Yes, you can enter the $3,528 in the box for real estate taxes paid from your mortgager.

Since you are a cash basis taxpayer, the supplemental bill is deductible when paid- 2025.
