I have income from a lawsuit settlement. I didn't receive a 1099. It is taxable income. Where and how do I put it in the 1040 form.

Thank you.

What type of settlement did you receive from the lawsuit?

    Are legal settlements taxable?

Please be more specific. I received "damages"- not personal injury related- all income from the settlement is taxable.

    Thank you

You can enter that as "other income" as follows:

    1. From the Federal menu in TurboTax find Wages and Income

    2. Find Less Common Income

    3. Choose Miscellaneous Income, 1099-A, 1099-C

    4. Choose Other Reportable Income

    5. Enter a description of the income and the amount
