RV Office - Enter as Vehicle or Other Asset for 179 Depreciation

Hello! I have recently purchased an RV (Airstream Office Model) so that I have a dedicated place to work away from my home office and can retain my sanity.  This model has a dedicated office in the RV, which is approximately 33% of the overall camper.  From my research, this should qualify as a Listed Asset and qualify for bonus depreciation under Section 179 in year purchased. It was purchased 12/20/2024.  I will classify it as 60% business use as we will use it occasionally for a personal trip and I want to err on the side of caution. Initially, I suspect its use will be more like 80% business.  I can’t figure out how to enter this Asset into Turbo Tax.  As a business vehicle, or as an “Other Asset”.  Neither seems to fit.

Since you will be using the RV as a vehicle, you would enter it as such for depreciation. If it was a park model (not meant to be used over the road), it might be considered a second home (other asset).

Remember that if you sell a Section 179 asset before the end of its useful life, you would be subject to depreciation recapture. Read more here:
