Hello,

Doing my tax now, and now reaching the part about sale tax. I bought a car last year, and it is co-signed with my brother. My question is, is it only my brother going to report the sale tax, or I have to report it as well?

Nobody *has* to enter the sales tax. Sales tax is an itemized deduction that goes on Schedule A with your other itemized deductions like mortgage interest, medical expenses, charity donations.....if you do not have enough itemized deductions to exceed your standard deduction, sales tax has no effect on your tax due or refund. And if one of you is going to enter it --- the person who actually paid the sales tax uses it.
