Question

The tax review is finding an error on our state return for the appraised property value. The value entered is correct. Is this a product issue? If so, how do we fix it?

It's part of the Kansas Homestead Act check to see if we qualify for a tax deduction, but we don't. There doesn't appear to be a way to get around the section. It's saying if we don't fix the error, we have to mail in the state return.

Since you don't qualify for the credit, you want to delete that section. Follow these steps:

    1. Go back into your Kansas return
    2. Go back into the credit as far as possible.
    3. Delete answers
    4. Go back - select the back button instead of continue
    5. delete, go back continue this pattern until clear.
    6. Delete the form.  If you are using:
      • Online: see How do I view and delete forms in TTO?
      • Desktop: If you are working in the cd/download TurboTax program:
        1. On the top right, there is a FORMS button.
        2. Click on FORMS.
        3. Locate the form you want to delete.
        4. Click on the form name.
        5. Below the form, bottom left, select DELETE FORM button.
