Turbo Tax is giving dependent credit for my child. However, my child was 17 all of 2024. She turned 18 in 2025. So, I should get the child credit right?

You lost the child tax credit when your child turned 17.  You can still get the $500 credit for other dependents for the child.

Do you mean that TurboTax is allowing you to claim your child as a dependent?

You won't be able to get the Child Tax Credit for your 17 year-old child. Children that are older than 16 at the end of 2024, don't qualify you to get the CTC, but you may still be eligible to get the   $500 non-refundable credit for Other Dependents instead.
