Question

Under child care expenses it only gives options for full time student, disabled or neither. We paid for child care but when I click neither it says we don’t qualify.

Have you entered your earned income from work for you and your spouse on the tax return?

Yes I have everything entered. I have three different daycares I need to enter but it has asked. When I go to review federal it asks if I paid for daycare and I put yes. Then it ask if we where disabled or full time students and neither of us are.

Is it asking if you are BOTH disabled or is it asking about just one of you?

Go back and double check your W-2 entries.  Make sure that there is a W-2 assigned to you and one assigned to your spouse.  If you did not select who the W-2 belongs to, then it will automatically go to the one who is the primary on the account.  This will generate that question and will not allow you to claim the child and dependent care credit.

If the same person is listed for both W-2's select the pencil and then change who the W-2 belongs to

Be careful---do not try to work on the child care credit if you have not already entered your W-2 or self-employment income.   You need to get the income from working entered before you try to get the childcare credit.    Does that solve it for you---or are you having other issues with the childcare credit?
