Question

We had to sell my mother in laws mobile home to provide for her care. Will she have to pay taxes on the gain? It was about about 85K

If she lived in the home for at least two years in the five year period before the sale, then she will not have to pay taxes on the gain since the gain is not over $250,000.

Probably not if she owned and lived in the mobile home 2 of the last 5 years. 

Enter as "Sale of Home" and answer the interview questions that follow.
