What if I never received a form 2106 from my previous employer?

    Your employer won't send form 2106. 

    Taxpayers use Form 2106 to claim Job Related Expenses. However, the unreimbursed employee expenses deduction has been suspended in tax years 2018 through 2025 unless you were:

    - Armed Forces reservist
    - Qualified performing artist
    - Fee-basis state or local government official
    - You're disabled and have impairment-related expenses.

     

    Your state might allow the deduction even if you can't claim it on your federal return. Enter your expenses in the federal return and TurboTax will figure out if you can deduct them.
