Why did my medical expenses line item auto fill?

Yes.  If you paid premiums on the 1095-A that were greater than your tax credit it would automatically transfer to the medical expenses.

Please clarify your question.

 

  • What do you mean by auto file?
  • Do they show up on Schedule A?
  • Did it override the standard deduction?

Within Deductions and Credits, TurboTax provided the option for me to enter Medical Expenses. Though I did not provide any medical expenses, after clicking through the prompts, I saw a non-zero amount listed for my Medical Expenses. 

This year, I have a 1095-A form also added to the Deductions and Credits. Could this be the reason?
