Why does my Maryland return show no choice of either standard deduction or itemized deduction?

Married couple filing jointly and trying to ask for a standard deduction. PDF copy of completed return shows no checkmarks in "Deduction Method Section" on page 2 of the return. Turbotax program's automated review of the return says that the return contains no errors. Computed Maryland tax on line 21 of return is $0. The return indicates that we are owed a refund, but the program ignores our choice of having the refund applied to estimated taxes for 2025. Using Turbotax for Tax Year 2024 on a Macintosh computer running Mac OS Sequoia v15.3.2.

You may claim itemized deductions on your Maryland return only if you claimed itemized deductions on your federal return. If you claimed your itemized deductions on your federal return, you may figure your tax using both deduction methods to determine which is best for you.

You can indicate that you want to Apply Overpayment in the Maryland section of TurboTax.
