Why does the software keep telling me I have a foreign financial asset and I don't. I change it to no and it defaults to yes?

TurboTax may have created Form 8938, Statement of Specified Foreign Financial Assets. Follow the steps below to check if the form is there and delete.  For TurboTax Online:

1. Open TurboTax and your return
2. Select Tax Tools from the menu on the left side
3. Select Tools
4. In the pop-up window select Delete a form
5. Find Form 8938 and Select Delete if it's there.

Also try closing TurboTax, clearing your cache and deleting your cookies. Review the TurboTax Help article How to clear your cache and How do I delete cookies? for specific instructions for your browser. Also, reboot your computer.
