why I can't see the real tax owe amount when I file the tax return?

In the File section of the program on Step 2 the tax refund or the taxes owed were shown.  If you had taxes owed you had to select how you were going to pay the taxes owed before you could continue on to Step 3 and e-file your tax return.

MISSING REFUND MONITOR

Sorry—-the “running” refund monitor that used to change as you entered data is gone.  You have to get all of your income, etc. entered into the software in order to see the results.

The other place for you to look for your federal refund or federal tax due is on your Form 1040

Federal refund will be on line 35a

Federal tax due (that needs to be paid by April 15) will be on line 37
