Question

Why won't TurboTax let me put a disabled child over 13 in the dependent care section?

Fifteen year old with cerebral palsy and state-recognized as disabled. He is our dependent, no one else claiming him.

    You have to indicate in TurboTax that the child is disabled so that the age limit does not apply for the Child and dependent care credit.

     

    In TurboTax Online, revisit the My Info section and check that for your disabled child, on the Less common situations page, you have checked the Was disabled box (see attached screenshot).
