Last year my refund was offset. So they took all our money but that put me in repayment and i applied for a repayment program and they put me in forbearance for a few months. I called the offset hotline and i have no debt. But is there a chance my refund can still be taken ??? Thanks in advance

Hello ruthgomez0219,

If your students loans are in a forbearance status and are not delinquent or currently due with a past due amount owed, you are considered in good standing and the IRS should not take your refund.  Please refer to the IRS link below:

Does this go for loans on deferment due to financial hardship?
