Hi,

I and my wife received maternity and paternity benefits living in Quebec in 2024.

Now, because we live in Quebec, none of us was issues a T4E slip. We only have the RL-6. However, on TurboTax, it insists on entering T4E data and it insists on putting the same amount in box 14. When we do that, the refund amountis reduced significantly.

To me, it feels like I am reporting two benefits income instead of 1. Am I missing something? Shouldn't I just enter the RL-6 slip information?

You would have received a T4E slip and a RL6 slip. If you didn't receive a T4E slip and you think you should have, we recommend that you check your CRA: MY Service Canada Account (if you're registered), and view and print any copies you find in there. You can also contact Service Canada at 1-800-206-7218 to have slips sent to you.

Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
