My SIN is from Quebec , I live in Ontatrio now my SIN is not being accepted why ?

I am 70 years old SIN is from 56 years ago I have lived and filed taxes in Ontario for 43 years.

    Thank you for your question.

    Please make sure that you are not using any spaces or special characters. The SIN should be 9 numbers, no spaces, like this: 123456789

    As per the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA),  this is the description of the error found on the slip after the validation process.

    Invalid SIN:

    • the SIN is not in the Social Insurance Register
    • the SIN field is blank or 0s were entered
    • SIN digits are reversed

    It could also be a sin/surname mismatch 

    • Surname is missing
    • Surname has change
    • Name/Surname reversal
