I will NEVER  use Turbo Tax again!  You deducted $170.00 from my Federal tax return.  That's a ridiculous

amount to charge!  [email address removed]

This is a public Internet forum.  For your privacy and security, please do not post any personal info here.  It looks like the forum privacy filter has removed your email address for your protection.

This is mainly a user community forum--not a direct route to TurboTax Support.  The fees depend on which product you choose, whether there was a state return, any add-ons, etc., and should have displayed on a "Review your order" screen prior to filing.    Without knowing the specifics of what products you used, it's hard to comment on the fees in a user forum.   Also, if you chose to pay the fees out of the Federal refund, there is an additional $40 service fee for that payment method ($45 for California filers.)

If you need to discuss your fees with TurboTax Support, you'd need to phone them.  Here's how:

FAQ: What is the TurboTax phone number?

I want to leave feedback on what wonderful support I had with the help of filing my taxes on turbotax. How do I go about doing that?

I'm glad you had a good experience.    Start a new thread of your own and describe your experience.  To do so you can go to the page below and click the blue "Ask a Question" button.

Space in the title is limited, so use the title as a summary.  Then below the title line is a box where you have plenty of room to explain.

Someone will likely forward it to TurboTax Support.

I was wondering why it say turbo tax is free, but once I was done I have to pay $100

    April 12, 2020

WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY?  I WANT THE FREE EDITION

The information that you can enter in Free Edition is pretty limited now.  Thanks to the new tax laws that began for 2018 returns, there are no more simple Form 1040EZ or 1040A's.  Everything goes on a Form 1040 that has three extra "schedules" with it, and if you need any of those schedules, you are not able to use the Free Edition.  Using the standard deduction instead of itemizing does NOT mean you will not need any of those schedules.

    https://www.irs.gov/forms-pubs/about-form-1040

If you qualify to use it, there is another full-featured free version of the software:

    Try Free File:

You qualify if your income was $36,000 or less, or $69,000 or less if active duty military, or if you qualify for Earned Income Credit

    https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1900583-what-is-turbotax-free-file-program

If you switch to Free File you must create a new account and new user ID.

    https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/4511011-what-happened-to-the-1040a-and-1040ez

Note:  If you do not qualify to use Free File then you will have to upgrade to Deluxe or higher in the paid versions of the software.

Online Deluxe $60  State software $50

Or—-Use this IRS site for other ways to file for free

I need to see why I'm missing 2 numbers on my bank account info

    April 17, 2020

I have filed my taxes with turbo tax and have not received my debit card or stimulus check into my bank account

    April 20, 2020

    Where is my refund.

    April 20, 2020

    @dbf1965

    https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/

TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer.

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 20 of your Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

    https://www.irs.gov/refunds

    To track your state refund:

    https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1899433-how-do-i-track-my-state-refund

On the IRS site you are also offered the use of an app called IRS2Go

    https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1901548-why-do-some-refunds-take-longer-than-others

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

I'm trying to file my taxes tonight and your site servers are down. I need to file tonight so that I can use quickbooks for next year. Please advise

Here are some things to try:

Reboot your entire system this way:  Shut down your computer, router, and modem.  Then wait a minute or so, then restart the modem.  Wait a minute or so, then restart the router.  Wait a minute or so, then restart your computer.

If that was unsuccessful, try a different browser.

If that was unsuccessful, and if you have both an Ethernet connection and a wi-fi connection available, try the other one that you haven't used.

If problem persists, please phone TurboTax Support during business hours.  Also if it interfered with your Quickbooks offer, tell them about that, too.

Support hours are 5AM-5PM Pacific (8AM-8PM Eastern), Mon-Fri

I think my daughter was claimed on someone's taxes. How can I find out

    RobertG
    May 21, 2020

There is no way to obtain that information, other than asking the person you think claimed her.

If you are entitled to claim her, you should do so.  If she is claimed on another person's return, and you e-file, the e-file will be rejected.

Then, you can either e-file without claiming her, or claim her and file on paper.

The IRS will then contact you to resolve who is entitled to claim her.

my name is luisI did my incometaxes this week but I was not able to enfile it some-sore of error.

i did make a mistake using the wrong w2 from 2018 instead of 2019.

i haven’t file it and I need to correct this and upload the new 2019 W2.

i already paid for the services.

Please give an advise due that I am out of the country  to make a telephone call.

To be sure you have the correct W-2 click on Wages and Income and then click Edit/Add beside Job (W-2).  Click delete (or trash can) beside the incorrect W-2 and then click Add another W-2 to enter the correct one for 2019.

After you have corrected this issue be sure to click on the Review tab to re-run the review before you refile.  If you still get an error, come back and let us know exactly what the error is and if it has a code so we can assist further.

this is not a reply to any message. i did not know how to post my own message why i used the reply box. this is really horrible with turbo tax with an outdated software leading completely to a wrong tax return. moreover it was supposed to be free for self employed and independent contractors where they charged me with $50.00 .

i really need to correct this wrong return restarting from scratch but impossible. trying to use the clear and start over tool but but the pop up says: you can not clear your return once you pay any turbo tax fees? why? only money counts here too? why can't i start over and correct a wrong return? very disappointed .

    can someone help please?
