I want to cover my charges with my refund but it's given me an error that it's not large enough which isn't true.

Sorry, but its' waaaaaay to late to do that.  In order for that to occur, you must be able to e-file....and e-filing was closed a couple weeks ago.

So you have to take that filing option out of your tax filing, then you have to select file-by-mail...and then pay for the software with a credit or debit card....print it out and file-by-mail.

That is your only option at this late date, and you have 5 more days to finish it before the software shuts down entirely for the year.  Thi year is unusual that TTX kept the Online software open this long, normally they shut down entirely about 20 October.
