Yes, you can e-file if you owe federal taxes. Just continue through the TurboTax product. In the finish & file section, it will ask how you want to pay any taxes you owe (example: direct debit, directly from your refund, mail check) before you file.

i e-filed 2017 federal, i owed, but i cannot remember (and i can't find in Turbo Tax) whether i did direct debit or mail check option and if former, its been 3 weeks since i received Federal acknowledge for receiving my 1040. Is there a way to determine payment method i selected??
