Question

Can't fill out the line for net income for 2023 of my common law spouse since he works as an independant worker on a contract. Can I still continue to fill mine?

    When you don’t know your spouse’s income and can’t find out through reasonable means, the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) recommends that you enter your best estimate.

     

    You can come back to your return and change the amount when you know it before you Netfile or make an adjustment if you Netfile first.
