How the hell do i owe money, i don't have a single extra thing on my t4?????

I moved from alberta to nova scotia but i do not understand how i somehow owe taxes to the government for that.what services could i have possibly used. my total earnings were only 35000 and i barely have any money as is.

If you changed provinces during the year, the amount of taxes taken off your T4 may have been correct for your old province, but not for the new province which you are filing in. So your taxes owing will go up to make up the difference.

Also, different provinces have different credits and tax rates, so while you may have been getting refunds in your old province, you may not get the same results in your new province.
