Question

I automatically pay an agency fee of 15% to my casting agent on each check I make as a self-employed actor, how do I account for this expense?

Yes, you can claim agency fees on your tax return.
    Steps to record agent fees:
    1. Sign in to your tax return
    2. On the left-hand side click the Income tab
    3. Next click the Employment Expenses tab
    4. Click Yes
    5. On the next page check off the bubble that applies to you and click Continue
    6. Check off the Other Employment Expenses box and click Continue
    7. Here you can add your agent fees
    8. After you are done filling in your information click Continue to save your information
